Installing WordPress is a relatively straightforward process. Check with your hosting provider to see if they provide any automatic installation options.
Otherwise, just follow these steps to manually install WordPress in a matter of minutes.
1. Download the latest stable WordPress package here
2. Extract the zip file and transfer all content to your web server via FTP
3. Navigate to your web server and click ‘PHPMyadmin’
4. Create a new database, name it anything you like (write it down!)
5. Create a new user for the database (write it down!)
6. Navigate to your website (www.yoursitename.com)
7. Click the ‘Create Configuration File’ button
8. Click the ‘Let’s Go’ Button
9. Fill in the MYSQL database information with the details from above
10. Fill in Blog Title and Email details and click ‘Install WordPress’ Button
11. Write down your username and password
12. Log in to your WordPress administration panel and change your password
13. That’s it! Your WordPress site should be up and running.
1. Download the selected theme from YouJoomla.com
2. Navigate to the Administration panel of your site (yoursitename.com/wp-admin)
3. Under the ‘Appearance’ tab, click ‘Themes’ then find and click the ‘Install Themes’ tab
4. Click ‘Upload’ and ‘Choose File’, browse to your downloaded theme and click ‘Install Now’
5. Once successfully installed, click ‘Activate’
6. That’s it! Your Wordpress theme should be up and running.
1. Download the selected theme from YouJoomla.com and install.
2. Delete all default posts and pages from your new installation
3. Under the ‘Tools’ tab, click ‘Import’
4. Select ‘WordPress’
5. Browse to ‘theme_name_sample_data.xml’ (included in your download)
6. Click ‘Import’
7. Create a new user or map blog posts to an existing user
8. IMPORTANT: Do not check the ‘Download and Import File Attachments’ tick box
9. Upload the ‘WP-Content’ folder to your server via FTP
10. That’s it! Your site should be populated with the theme’s demo content.
1. Navigate to the Administration panel of your site (yoursitename.com/wp-admin)
2. Under the ‘Appearance’ tab, click ‘Widgets’
3. Find your desired widget in the ‘Available Widgets’ section of the page
4. Drag the desired widget to the desired area on the right
5. Fill in any required options for the selected widget
6. Click ‘Save’
7. That’s it! Your new widget should now appear on your WordPress site.
