I noticed that Youjoomla has one Elxis for joomla template ( YJ Times) and that led me to explore Elxis CMS. So far I know that Elxis has a similar setup and functions to Joomla. However, can joomla extensions and components be used with Elxis or does Elxis have its own extensions and components (sounds like a dumb question, but hey...you never know...)? Any other general opinions on Elxis versus Joomla like security, knowledge base etc?
Thanks guys

Hi - Joomla! 1.5 templates not compatible with the Elxis template system. Joomla! 1.5 extensions are not compatible with Elxis, and Joomla! 1.0.x extensions are not recommended for use with Elxis.

That said, you can make Joomla! 1.5 templates & extensions compatible with Elxis manually. Please visit their Wiki: Category:Elxis For Developers - Elxis Official Documentation.

Cheers!

Thanks Jay you're the best! I was exploring Elxis and also found out that it doesn't actually have as many advantages like Joomla. It's a great CMS, however, one can do much more with joomla and joomla has a huge community and extensions. Thanks jay

Hi - Happy to help.

When I looked at Elxis, it appears to be an interesting application. I plan to investigate it further since I read a lot that seems to indicate it may be more secure than Joomla! in several areas. Closing post.
