I would like know if Youjoomla templates and extensions are compatible with Joomla 1.6 and if the answer is not what we have to expect.

Thanks

Hi - No template or extension is likely to be "automatically" compatible with Joomla 1.6 due to the core changes that are occurring between the versions. NO 1.5 template, regardless of the source, that I tested in 1.6 worked at all.

Thanks for your reply jaycburton.
What can we expect? Will be made changes to fit the 1.6 version or not?

Hi - The very first thing that needs to happen is that Joomla! 1.6 must be released in a final, stable format. If I were a developer of solutions, I would not want to put too much effort into anything until the final specifications were set in stone. Otherwise, I would be developing relative to a moving, changing target.

Once Joomla! 1.6 is stable, I would imagine that template clubs and others will begin working more earnestly on templates and extensions for the stable code. Based on my experience with major software releases, including Joomla!, I would fully expect it to be some time after the initial stable release before the public starts seeing reliable templates and extensions released. This is mainly due to the inevitable bug fixes that will be necessary for the Joomla! product.

Keep in mind that this is my opinion of the situation, and not anything that should be construed as an "official" YouJoomla.com policy or position. Such communications and discussion would be confidential by nature, and would not be addressed publicly in the forums for myriad reasons. I suggest you use the 'contact us' link should you desire additional information. Again, keep in mind, specific strategic planning is not likely to be discussed.

@ patrizio57 I received a note from the administrator to let you know that Grid and Joomla 1.5 templates will be converted to Joomla! 1.6.
