Improving the support system

Dear members, in past year we have offered Live chat support with your purchases and we did our best to help you as fast as we can with any of your support needs.

But due to the script options and reliability on 3rd party system , some of your questions were unanswered, emails got lost, support system was abused by non-members and you were able to get faster response trough support forum instead of the live chat feature. To make sure that all your questions are answered on time, in few weeks we will be rolling out a ticket system for our members. Until then live chat is disabled and if you have any questions please use our support forums.

Still alive and kicking

Past 10 days put our team to a huge test. We were trying to fight it off, hoping it will stop but lets face it, we are under big ddos attack. It has been rough to keep the server alive

and as you can see we did as much as we can to make this experience transparent for all our users. Some of you might have experienced page load lags or login glitches but everything is better than actual server down time.

Since the attack is still ongoing we had to make executive decision and start a server move. This is still in process and we are hoping to make it painless as possible to all our members and their clients.

After the move the worst case scenario could be that some of you ( the ones that signed up on the DNS resolving day ) experience account loss once we are on the new network. Please do not be alarmed by this but give us few hours to reconstruct the users database and restore your account info.

Note that none of the data is lost, is just that the DNS resolver can bounce you back to the old server instead of new one. This process usually takes up to 24h. Once we are ready to move, you will see a notice on our homepage and we will post info on our Twitter and Facebook pages.

Current login issue fix:

If you experience not able to download issue, please go to your member page click on this logout button

and than login again. There is possible stubborn cookie that is not letting you logout, if the option above does not work, close session, clear cache and login again.

We hope you understand that we doing as much as we can to make all this as easy as possible for you, and to ease your pain and assure you that we are still on track,

Joomla! 3.0 is out - What do you need to know?

Congratulations to the Joomla! Community. New and shiny Joomla 3.0 is here and is worth checking out.
After months of hard work Joomla! 3.0

has become a new stepping stone to better web development.
Enhanced with brand new responsive administrator combined with Twitter Bootstrap Joomla 3.0 is paradise for templates/extensions developers that do not have to worry about UI anymore.

We are aware that you have many questions and first let us advise you to use Joomla! 3.0 for production websites only if all your 2.5.x templates/extensions are compatible with it. Also note that 3.0 will be obsolete 30 days after Joomla 3.1 is out .

It is up to you to decide to stick with Joomla 2.5 ( which we suggest ) until LTS ( long term release ) Joomla 3.5 comes out. In meantime you might want to visit Joomla 3.0 FAQ and get information from Joomla! Team directly.

About our templates and extensions:

We wanted to keep this a secret until next template release but since Joomla! 3.0 is out we might as well advise you what is coming up. YJSG is about to get a huge makeover (v1.0.14) which will be compatible with Joomla 3.0 and Joomla 2.5. Beside compatibility, we are adding few more features for all Joomla 2.5/3.0 templates like:

HTML5 by default
Twitter Bootstrap ( for Joomla 2.5 with our JBootstrap plugin )
Responsive layout
Copyright notice change within template admin
Default Font Squirrel settings
Improved head code for faster rendering
Improved mobile devices recognition

All this and more will be available to you before our next Joomla! Template release which
is scheduled for 10-15-2012 10-31-2012.

JBootsrap what is that?

While doing some tests on Joomla 3.0 we could not stop thinking about all those Joomla! 2.5.x users that do not want to rush with upgrade but would love to have Twitter Bootstrap in their templates.

To make it easier for all of them we have published JBootstrap system plugin for Joomla 2.5.x that brings Joomla 3.0 boostrap framework to Joomla 2.5. This way you can play with Bootstrap as long as you want, and upgrade on your own terms.

JBootstrap is free for everyone and is released under GNU/GPL V2 license.

With that said we are off to bring you all the new things you deserve and you go ahead and play with Joomla ! 3.0.

Dear IE6, IE7: We Want a Divorce

Just like Microsoft's recent attempt to steer the world-at-large away from IE6, web developers everywhere are calling for a quick, painless death to IE7.

The team at YouJoomla couldn't be happier. Well, we'd probably be happier if everyone in the universe decided to use Chrome for all of their web browsing needs, but that's probably not gonna happen.
Suffice it to say that this is a step in the right direction: the direction of standards compliance.
We wanted to let you know that, going forward, we will no longer be officially supporting or creating new workarounds for these outdated browsers. As always, our existing templates still include ifie options and ifie CSS files for both IE6 and IE7, and we'll continue to include an upgrade notice to help your visitors out, but we're going to be devoting most of our energy to more modern, compliant browsers.

After all, we're talking about a miniscule segment of the market. IE7 usage is somewhere around 4% worldwide, while IE6 is holding steady at around 6%. The vast majority of these outdated installs are located in China.

In this age of ubiquitous broadband, most consumers have no trouble keeping up with the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Opera or Safari. Why should IE be any different? That's Microsoft's attitude, anyway.

While not an official Microsoft initiative, the folks behind IE7 Countdown are even more succinct about the development community's feelings about IE:

"If you use Internet Explorer and you don't absolutely have to (e.g. because you have pre- installed software on your company computer and you are not allowed to install any new software), please install a modern browser like Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Opera. If you do have to use Internet Explorer, try at least installing Chrome Frame, which turns IE into a usable browser. And tell your friends to do the same. You will help yourself to better websites and help developers deliver them to you."

We love our customers, and we want to make each and every one of you happy. If you happen to be getting a significant percentage of your traffic from mainland China (or Singapore), by all means pay a visit to our forums. Joomla! 3.0 Templates and Extensions Updates

If we’ve learned anything from converting Joomla 1.5 to 1.6, 1.7 and 2.5, it’s that it’s not a very good idea to rush these things out. Bugs will always come up, not because of bad coding

, but because of the sheer volume of changes that the Joomla development team implements every time. Whether it’s bug-fixes or changes in default classes, methods or vars, it’s super-easy to lose track of what goes where.

In the interest of making sure our customers remain stable (and happy), we’re advising all of you to stick with Joomla 2.5 (Long Term Support) until the next LTS version (3.5) arrives. After all, Joomla 3.0 is just a bridge to 3.5, and support will end 30 days after 3.1 sees the light of day. Keeping your sites on the bleeding edge of Joomla releases is just asking for trouble. We want you guys to be completely bug-free.

As you’re probably already (painfully) aware, most web hosting companies are way behind the times when it comes to PHP. Joomla 3.0 requires PHP 5.3.1, so there’s a pretty good chance your provider isn’t ready yet anyway.

After months of hard work, the team at YouJoomla is incredibly proud to present: YouJoomla V4. More than just a site redesign, we spent a lot of time listening to your feature requests

and ideas, and we’ve implemented just about everything we could think of. We’ve made so many improvements to both our web site and our way of doing business that it’d be impossible to list every single change here, but let’s take a look at a few highlights.

Aside from the obvious visual style changes, we’ve improved the navigation and made it easier for our customers to find what they’re looking for. We added a one-of-a-kind filter and search system for our product groups to help you get to the template, theme or extension you need faster.

The category list and the product view now both include full screenshots so you can preview right away before you explore further. Digging even deeper, we’ve enhanced our product demos with a truly awesome filter system that allows you to test our stuff like never before. Once you’ve made your decision, our new on-page downloading system will make it super-easy to get what you need.

We’ve also improved and expanded our help sections, making sure our new and existing customers can learn all the tips and tricks for a great web presence that we’ve discovered over the years. We’ve also revamped our blog section to help keep you on top of the latest news about Joomla!, WordPress and general web development.

We’ve added insanely detailed template documentation for all of our templates, including step-by-step installation instructions and helpful guides for everything from module positions to database creation. We’ve got it all covered.

Finally, we decided to simplify our Joomla Templates Club membership options, making the incredible values we offer easier to understand and take advantage of. First off, we here at YouJoomla wanted to apologize for the slight delay in releasing this month’s Joomla template, the excellent YouVida.

It’s on the way, but we’d like to explain why it’s not here just yet.

Templates Club members who frequent the forums already know that we’ve been working hard to improve your experience and give you more of the good stuff you’ve come to expect from us. We’ve listened to your feedback, and are preparing to launch YouJoomla V4. If we may be so bold, we really knocked it out of the park this time! We’re just about done with our testing, and we’ll be going live very soon.

Aside from the obvious cosmetic changes you’ll see in the coming days, we’ve hired a crack team of Joomla! and WordPress enthusiasts to create easy-to-follow tutorials and brand new template documentation, as well as a revamped blog with helpful news, tips and tricks to keep you in the loop.

Our developers are working like mad to expand our Joomla! and WordPress offerings to make sure our customers always have the best of everything. That’s what YouJoomla V4 is all about.

In V4, we’ve added lifetime support to all of our single-purchase templates and extensions, WordPress Themes included. We’re even making that retroactive for your active past purchases.
