Problems with Newsline installation 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I purchased the Newsline template, but I've been unable to install it. I've installed several other Joomla 1.5 templates without any problems. When I click "upload and install" from Joomla, there's a long pause, and I am returned to the admin screen with no error message (and no template uploaded). I've tried the installation from Safari and Explorer on the Mac, and I also tried it from Explorer on a PC. Same result. Please advise.

I doubt it is the template . Did you try FTP the newsline to your templates folder?

I've just been following the standard template installation procedure, as I understand it anyway. I browse to attach the zip file and click "upload and install" from the Joomla template installation screen. I haven't changed any files.

To ftp to the templates folder, would I send the zip file, or should I unzip it and send each individual file? Thanks.

Make sure you are downloading the correct template for your version of Joomla.

Also make sure it's the template and not the demo you're trying to install.

Ah, I see now what I was doing wrong. The initial zip file they sent me contained a bunch of other zip files. I had to unzip the first one to find the actual file to install.
