Change colours for menu items 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi,
my client has the whish that the colour of the web changes for each menu item. Now, I can achieve this by using URLs in the menu and add the change_css querystring to the URL. However, Joomla is not liking this and it is not the proper use of the menu system (it even generates an error if I use only external links in the menu).
Could you tell me if there cleaner way to do this? Can I use a "color" parameter from within the menu properties to achieve this?

By the way, I am using the University template, see here: http://thaf.org/index.php

Many thanks
Manfred

That question kinda came up. About installing the same template more than once. That way you can change the template name and css default to the color and install it more than one time. It might work .

University_ blue
University_green
University_red

Ok - This is a solution. This was in fact the first solution I thought of and implemented. But then, my client was asking for changes here and there - So I had to make the same changes in four different templates --- I found this a lenghty process, prone to inaccuracies and not good practice... So, therefore I thought of passing the change_css parameter with the URL. In principle, this is a cleaner approach, but then Joomla isn't happy with this.
This is kinda fix...

changing color of links especially if you use suckerfish will not work , so far no luck with this in joomla , you can create your own menu and place it in the index.php
