The Differents between a Template and a Demo
Template:
When you install a template you don't unzip the file. You leave the file zipped. And you must already have a copy of Joomla installed. A template is best used if you already have a website with content on it. Make sure to look at the Template Demo page for the Module Positions to best setup the layout of your site.
Demo: All of our demos require MYSQL5 database. Check with you service Provider to make sure this is the version that is being used.
If you are installing a demo, you install the demo like you install Joomla. Joomla is not already installed. You unzip the demo like you unzip a regular copy of Joomla. The demo is a full copy of Joomla with a sample database included. Make sure you check yes when asked to include the sample Database during installation. If you install the demo, you wouldn't have to install anything else. All the components and modules will be installed for you. And your website would look just like the demos on this site. The Demo is best used for new websites or if you are going to reinstall your content from backup.
