How do I activate/display the YJSG short code form to show under my text editor?

You are using the old version of the template without the plugin, that is why you can't see the shortcode buttons.

You have to update your template to the new version and install the plugin.

Hello icristaos.
Please notice that the shortcodes are included inside the articles and it should not be removed. If you really want to remove it you need to change the core files of the plugin.
