[SOLVED] Move site one level up
 

I'm planning on changing an existing website to joomla. If I build this on the same server in a temp folder and when done move it up to the root dir when done, will this be an easy move? I saw somewhere one just copied all files up one level and it worked? This sound too easy? But compared to moving a site from one server to another this approach must be easier?

Hi Tom - It is pretty much this easy. You normally move the files and update configuration.php with the new paths. Hopefully your hosting provider won't make it any harder... :)
