Validation

Hi there

this module is great and I've managed to style is nicely with my site. However, I have one important question.

How can I get the module to validate the forms when they are submitted? At the moment, if I enter the wrong password or username then nothing happens. Also, nothing happens if I do not enter a required field in the registration form.

I've noticed that there is a nice solution to this on the demo site. Is there a way for me to implement a similar method on my site?

Many thanks in advance

Chris

you are missing

<!-- messages -->
<jdoc:include type="message" />
<!-- end messages -->

in your template index.html

Great, thanks for your quick reply. That's sorted the login form.

Sorry for making that dumb mistake, I'm tying to build a template from scratch to keep it clean, but missed that vital bit of detail.

It hasn't changed anything on the registration form though. From the demo and can see that the labels should change colour and that this is controlled by some javascript - but for some reason nothing is changing on my site. Is there something else obvious I am missing? Or could it have something to do with me styling the labels using CSS?

Thanks for your help.

yes add this to head or right under <head> tag

<jdoc:include type="head" />
<?php JHTML::_('behavior.mootools'); ?>

Thanks for your quick reply.

Sorry, that doesn't seem to have done anything.

Any other thoughts?

You need to add:
Code:

.invalid {
  color: #F00;
}

to the stylesheet.css in your YJ Pop Login module.

I know that it's been three years since a previous post was written :), but the module has not yet been specified style to highlight incorrectly entered fields when registering a new user.
