Default [SOLVED] Recommended joomla development servers

I've tried Wamp and Xampp servers for developing a joomla site locally before uploading to a live server. However, I find both not serving well. Are any of you out there using something other than these two servers? If yes, which one? Other recommendations? Thanks in advance guys.

Hello

First I started joomla by using local server (Xampp), but found out very soon that I would be much better off using live server, so I purchased an account where I can add several databases and use this account to work on all my customers websites. When they are finished, I move them to their own webspace.

Tried recently Wamp, mainly to test some coding locally, but I prefer much more to do all the work online.

This is only my opinion

IMHO, I concur with orion_ in this area. It is possible to get a development site for just a few bucks a month, and have a dedicated IP address to go with it. You don't even need to purchase a domain name in that case.

An advantage of a site like this is that you have the ability to give clients and others access to it, it is typically easier to move, and is "reusable" in that you can remove all content once a site is moved off of it, and have a clean site to develop in in just a few minutes.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your advice. I'll have to try the "live" production process. Besides, I think that might be the best way to go. The Thanks again, you guys always rock

I'm a very satisfied customer

Hi - Thanks for the update. I believe you will be much happier with this route. Typically, people that develop locally are those that have Internet access issues. Closing thread.
