[SOLVED] Change logo without ftp or cpanel a

Hi

I am changing a template for a school and therefore I do not have access to ftp or cpanel access, which I have not experienced before and I have not been able to change the logo, assistance would be fantastic.

I am trying all sorts of ways without success.

If you can installed the template again. Something you might want to try. Uninstall the template. Now Unzip the template you downloaded and replace the logo.gif in the image folder with the logo you want to replace, rezip it and reinstall it from the Admin Panel - Template Manager in Joomla.

Thanks for that - I did give that a try - first go around and then saw that the logo, did not look great, so I went and redid as previous and then made a mistake with a file name on the orange logo, then went back and changed and tried again and then I get this error message - when trying to install

There is already a file called /webdocs/school-hosting/mtgravatt/camphillipss/wcmss/templates/university/head.php - Are you trying to install the same CMT twice?

- so it will not upload properly anymore.

any suggestions to fix this.

ok , you dont have to reinstall the template to change the logo. all you need is upload the logo in yoursitename/templates/university/images and overwrite the existing one

Hi

Where do I access this if I dont have ftp or cpanel access?

At the moment the template is not showing up and I am getting an error message, as previously stated, if I try to upload the template.

Any ideas, would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted it changed over, before I move and I dont have internet access for awhile - which is a bit of a pain.

get this , it will give you sort of cpannel access , you can see all files on your server

Hi Neo

I am aware of xplorer and I put it on all the website I build, however we are talking about a government body, which does not allow me to add any components or modules etc and is very limited.

Would have replied sooner, however been busy moving to the bush - just got access to a phone line and dialup

Do you know of any other options?

This is something you might want to try: You might want to wait for other suggestions before trying this!

First try doing this on a website that you have access to. Or on a local copy of Joomla on your computer. That way if you have any problems you can fix them. Only when you get the logo to display the way you want it to look, on your test site. Then you can try it on the school site.

Put the new logo in the image folder as done in earlier post.

This time youre going to install a second copy of the template. Read this post.

Thanks for your assistance, however I am unable to access what is at the link, you gave me, something about no permission.

I have only just recently purchased silver for this particular template.

Used the forum search function and could not find it either.

I have altered my logo now to suit and cant wait for it to be seen - the Principal is extremely keen to see it as well.

What has to be changed to install the same template in Joomla twice

Change folder name , edit folder name in templatedetails.xml
pack the folder in zip and install
