Default [SOLVED] Registration redirect and reg info massage

Hi, when I click on the home page on Create Account I get transferred to the registration page. When I fill in all fields and click on and register myself, when I finish with the registration page and click on the register button I do not get redirected to another page. The same page keeps on my screen. But the registration takes place as weh I look in the admin section I find myself registered.

Where can I change this setting that after clicking on register the user gets redirected to for instance the start page?
Thanks.

Thanks for your reply.
Ive been playing with Joomla for 3 days now and bought the template 2 days ago. So I think the definition of Newbie is very well used on me. I dont know what sef means or is.

Thats ok, sef is a term given to urls that go from looking like this:

http://blah.com/index.php?option=com...&id=5&Itemid=6

to something more humanely readable like this:

http://blah.com/blog/my-artile-title.html
---

Reading back your initial post, I think I may have misread it. Im afraid its not possible to redirect registrations to another page using Joomlas default login module. This maybe possible through a third party login module or community builder

Im not quite sure what you mean. Usually it says thanks for registration and sends and email to the registrar account. Were they click on a link to finish the registration process. But if you look in the login form module: Extentions - Module Manager - Login Form. You can change the Login Redirection Page. Its normal for most registration pages to stay on the same page. Because a confirmation through email is needed before a registrar is actually registered.

This Module displays a username and password Login form. It also displays a link to retrieve a forgotten password. If User registration is enabled, (refer to the Global Configuration settings), then another link will be shown to invite Users to self-register.

Ok. thanks. Thats where things stop working. At the registration page, after filling in your new info and you click on the register button, nothing happens. You stay on the same registration page. No email is sent, no thank you page is displayed. You just stay on the same page.
But when I go to the admin section I see the user is registered.

Hope this helps a little more.
Thanks

Remember a user can be registered but the account not activated yet.

Have you checked your settings in Admin: Tool bar menu - Site - Global Configuration - System Settings - User Settings.

Allow User Registration No Yes
New User Registration Type
New User Account Activation No Yes
Front-end User Parameters

These are my settings:

Allow User Registration: Yes
New User Registration Type: Registered
New User Account Activation: Yes
Front-end User Parameters: Show

I tried again, after filling in the registration form and I click on register nothing happens. I dont get redirected to a thank you page but I stay on the same page. I dont receive an email either. Actually nothing happens.
Thanks.

Its an issue you having with Joomla. Youre going to have to go to the Joomla forum. http://forum.joomla.org/

See if using the default template makes any differents. You might also want to try installing a diffrent login module to see if it changes anything. You can download one in the download section of this site.

Heres a post about your problem.

In the post mentioned below they mention that if you are not using a default template you might need to do some programming, so maybe its a template problem:

If its not the default template, please add
<jdoc:include type=\message\ />to your template index.php.

http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.ph...t=registration

Ill go try to do this and let you know.
